Skins and Cosmetics

As the internet progresses and our digital profiles evolve in perceived value, everyone is investing more time and money into their digital identities.
This is increased ten-fold when people can truly own their digital identity, enabled through blockchain and it's immutable data.
Chess3's skins and cosmetics are underpinned by this technology. We want to allow you to collect, own and shape your public on-chain identity as your own.
Here's all the key info you need to get the gist:
All assets are on-chain and tradable. We're currently building an in-game marketplace to make trading them as easy as possible but we won't prevent secondary markets from happening on platforms like OpenSea or Blur
You'll either be able to buy skins through our marketplace or by earning them via playing the game. We're going to have pretty strict requirements around which skins are earnable, so as to prevent economic collapse
Skins and cosmetics will augment as many parts of your experience as we can imagine. Of course, we'll give you some basic stuff to give you an idea of customisation and the option to not have to spend money on the platform
The cosmetics will encompass everything including boards, piece sets, backgrounds, pfps, player banners and more. We're even thinking about doing animated cosmetics to really amplify the experience (think Harry Potter chess scenes where the pieces kill each other).
LOOT BOXES
Our first run of assets will start with our loot boxes. We are releasing an extremely limited supply for tournament participants to claim.
Loot boxes will have a single image/rarity, but the contents will be common, rare, legendary and ultimate, (1:1) chess boards/sets.
There will be a total supply of 1,111 loot boxes:
500 Loot boxes will go to top Global Players for first dibs.
500 Loot Boxes available to purchase with COINs earned from competing.
111 Loot boxes are reserved for Tournament rewards
Claiming
These loot boxes will be redeemable using our in-game currency that will be earnable only during our MVP launch tournament
The purchase & mint window will be immediately post-MVP tournament and coincide with the launch of the marketplace.
This means that for a very short period of time users can: come to Chess3 -> earn COINs -> redeem COINs for loot boxes -> open their loot boxes -> receive skins (on-chain assets).
Once loot boxes have been claimed, we will move into the "Burn to Claim Loot" phase, creating a deflationary supply of the MVP loot boxes.
People with additional COINs, or who missed out on the MVP loot boxes, will need to see secondary market or hold their coins to spend on further drops.
