Spectating

Yes, spectating is an option on Chess3.

Currently, spectating on our platform is nascent and simple. In practise, users share the links to their live games with anyone they'd like and the receiver of the link can paste it into their browser.

This gives them the opportunity to watch a live feed of the Chess match.

You can try this right now! It's not a rival to Twitch by any stretch of the imagination but eventually, users will be able to access live matches of anyone on the site through their profile (imagine Magnus Carlsen is playing a game and you can follow along by clicking through his profile).

In future, the goal is to allow those spectating to speculate on the outcome of the match. This is very far off so don't get too excited. We need to go through the proper regulatory channels and legal requirements of different countries. It's going to take time and resources to pull this off.

But the dream is real and we can build the tech. It's only a matter of time.
